Modern color code for MG red

Hey all,
Anyone have a Dupont or PPG color code for MG Red ?
Body shop I am using cannot seem to cross reference
with the Ditzler code in Moss Motor's pricer for MG red.
This is for a 1947 TC.

There were lots of different reds over the years...though its for TD's, you might want to try this site https://www.mgcars.org.uk/mgtc.....I would also seriously wonder about the abilities of a body shop that cna't cross reference paint codes....my body shop, when they can't find the paint codes in their computer program, calls one of their paint distributors & they do the research to find the paint.....& the computer program my bodyman uses found the correct modern mixture for my TD.

Mike, I agree with Tony that a shop that can't cross reference color codes would be a no no in my book. All modern shops that use top quality paints have the ability to do that. They can even scan a color for a blended match on spot repairs. Also like Tony says, if they get stumped, they can call their suppliers to research it for them. Ditzler and Dupont codes are easily crossed due to there high popularity. I would stay away from someone who can't or don't know how to do that.JMHO. PJ

Hey guys,
Thanks for your input. I got back with the shop I have used on a couple of
other cars and they had figured out the paint code issue. Turns out that
the original MG Red going back to an actual paint chip sample page is more
of a burgundy than a Tartan red or Colorado red. Guess I will go for the color
I prefer versus what was put on in 1947. May not be historically correct but
a redder red looks better to me than a more burgundy type red.
