Intresting compressor story

Got the parts yesterday. New Piston, rod and sleeve, new intake and exhaust valves. Installed all. Started fine and pumped quickley to 80 lbs when I shut it off to check temps.

Could not then get the motor to turn the compresser to restart. Drained take of pressure to about 10 lbs and started fine. Fore some reason the elec motor does not like the load on start up.

I am going to have to talk to the manufactures tech line, I got to be missing something here. Oh yea, pumps like a crazy witch, really fast.

When the pressure switch reaches it high set point it should unload the discharge side of the compressor. How did you stop the compressor? If you flipped the lever on the side of the pressure switch it should unload as well. If you pulled the plug it will not unload and then struggle to start when you plug it back in. My small portable does this.

Does it has a no-load bypass for startup?

I see no bypass, both gages read the same all the time, bet that is the prob. Ahh, it is hidden under the regulator, will check.
Off to the Doc. will let you all know of resolution. That makes so much sense I should have seen that myself.

Ok, more tests gave the check valve a swat and it did work one time soooooo.

Going to order a new check valve, and unloader valve.

We will see.

Some compressors have a remotely mounted unloader valve. If you don't find it easily, look for a piece of small bore tubing running down from the cylinder head(s) towards the pressure switch area.

Yep, that's what I got. Just ordered a new one along with the check valve and the tube. Now if I can just get the regulator to work, if not I'll get a new one of those as well.
