Have been thinking of adding front disk brakes to my '60 Sprite. Can anyone recommend a conversion kit. I see that Frontline has an upgraded one, but cost is more than I would like to pay. VB also has a kit, minus calipers for approx. $150 (calipers are additional $200). Other options? Thanks.

One option is to just buy a later model parts-car and take the front brake assy off
If the parts-car is a '64 thru '66 then the 3/4" master cylinder is good to get too!

Bill's option is what I did when I added disc brakes to the Tunebug a couple years ago. Bought a parts car for $900, used the 1275 block, carbs, front disc assembly, front A-arms, rear drum assembly, and then sold off the body shell for a couple hundred.

Same thing here. Craig's List is a good place to find parts cars as well as asking on the forums. If there are any British car repair shops in your area they may know on one. My local machine shop found a '73 for me for $150...they are out there.
