You're best to stick with stock-ish set up on the Triumph heads, the way the valve spring sit there all proud on a boss, it was a terrible design idea, I built several trick 1500 race heads and used different double springs set ups, and had to make mods to make it all work, without the use of lathe and mill, I'd never got it done, heck shimming a valve spring on this engine is a major work of art, I had to make special piece to just be able to use shims. This part of the 1500 engine is true PITA.
