TR4/4A Current TR4A Demand

Hows the current TR4A demand? Our local British repair shop is relocating too far away and we're considering selling our car. Tough decision...........

I think generally the cars are much more in demand than 10 or 20 years ago, when people seemed more interested in the rough and ready TR2-3 or the last of the line TR6 (the TR7 was a whole new line). I have seen a lot more restored examples than a few years ago, and they seem to bring pretty good money, but think hard beforr you sell, I still muss my BRG 4A.

A good car will bring good money, what ever that is anyway...

Where are you located in NC? Are you sure there are not any other convenient shops? Your local club might help you find another shop or have an accomplished member willing to be your mechanic.

4As are neat cars and while you might not make a profit, you should not incur a major loss unless you were in the middle of a major project.

Also, if you do decide to sell, please keep me in the loop since I know of someone in NC that might be interested.

Thanks for the encouragement! Guess Ill postpone the selling idea for now and try to figure out if I can do more of the repairs myself. The alignment shop said I needed a ball joint and some bushings before the alignment would do any good so I guess Im looking at at least a partial front rebuild but didnt trust anyone but my British mechanic,thats leaving town,to do the work. Might try it on my own or contact the Triumph Club of the Carolinas for help. Check out my TR4A front suspension rebuild post. Thanks again!
