The issue I have seen, going way back, is firewall and tunnel.
I recall a 283 and powerglide in a MK1 in....1966 that had patched "hump: to clear the trans, and I think the firewall notched back to clear the distributor.
But, since the mounts are to the subframe, and not the body, I would think most of the damage can be repaired by obtaining a new (used) front subframe.
If they whacked out for a bigger radiator, you'd have to fix the mounts.
Might take a rusty "donor" car, but should be reversible.
Tach is maybe another issue....and "donor: may fix that, too.
