Hi guys - my wire wheels have had it and am looking to (on a budget) get slightly wider profile tires on the car. I have a spare set of TR6 rims that I'd like to us, but a fuzzy part of my brain (insert joke there, keep it clean) is saying the lug nut studs need to be longer than the ones the wire wheel spine extensions use. If so I am assuming Moss etc caries the correct studs to use? Will the existing studs just knock out readily or do they need to be pressed out at a machine shop? New ones pressed in if so?

So many questions...

is is your car IRS or solid axle? IRS is easy and yes just buy TR6 lugs. The solid axle is like the TR3 and TR4 though, the rear lugs are threaded in and a little more challenging to change out.

Skip, They will come out with one good whack, but do yourself a favor, or someone in the future. Run a lug on the threads before hitting them. You may want to go back or someone may do a wire wheel conversion and need a couple. The new ones will pull in with a lug nut on a 1/2 inch spacer, washers, if that's all you have. Give them a spray with WD40 or a drop of grease before hand.

Someone will correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe to put longer studs in the front, you will need to split the hub from the rotor to be able to get them in...
