Wedge Alternate/After Market Wheels for TR7

Well, I went ahead and bought another 7! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/driving.gif It is a 1980 California spec dhc, white with tan interior.

My question is - There has GOT to be a larger (15" or bigger) wheel for the 3-3/4 bolt pattern of the TR7.

Does anyone know of a good aftermarket wheel available in the US?

And NO, I am not interested in Panasports....

I once had a very extensive Wheel Interchange Guide, that listed 100s of stock wheels, their bolt patterns, and what they would interchange with.

Any ideas??? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/driving.gif

Keep an eye on eBay, you never know what you might find. There are many "old" custom wheels which will fit - you just have to find a set since many of them are not made anymore. See this webpage for a partial listing of Spit/GT6 wheel types & pictures www.triumphspitfire.com/wheels.html Take a look at what the racers in the SCCA are using on their old LBCs, and check out Keizer, Weld Racing, Circle Racing, Kodiak, Diamond, Revolution, Compomotive, Circle Track - they can all make wheels with the proper dimensions (width/offset/backspace) and bolt pattern for our cars. You can find their ads in the back of SportsCar and GrassRoots Motorsport, and most of them are on the web. PRI sells new hubs for the Spit/GT6 which will allow the use of modern wheels (4 x 100mm PCD), but I prefer the looks of the period-correct style wheels on these older sportscars.

Other cars with the same 4 x 3.75” PCD
Austin: Marina
Lotus: Elan, Europa, Seven
Triumph: Herald, Spitfire, GT6, Vitesse, TR7, Dolomite
MG: Metro, Montego, Maestro, MGF
Formula Ford Racers

Hmmmm. Larger than 15" is going to look at bit silly don't you think -- as well as fouling the wheel wells and wrecking the handling? You really don't want a wedge blinged out like some poser SUV. If better performance is what you want there may be much cheaper ways.

In North America -- choices are limited for that configuration unless your local wrecker has lots of Jensen Healey or Lotus lying about. Even then 14" is likely the best you'll find.

eBay is a good bet but expect to pay top dollar. You might be better off having them custom modified. Getting the right offset isn't hard but that stud configuration will have to be made up directly or a spacer used. The bad news is that there *aren't* lots of easy swaps when it comes to wheels in the US/Canada.

Here are some links.

Not a lot of help for you in the US, but here is a UK TR7 with MG Maestro 15" wheels fitted - looks pretty good to me.

Revolution makes them.

They are available in the US, because I bought a couple sets. I found them in the SCCA newsletter. I'll check again when I get another one. 3.75 inch is 95.25mm. A pretty wierd pattern.

Good luck.

Jensen Healey wheels are not 4x3.75”. They are 4x4”.

Revolution wheels are available in the US from: https://www.ttrsracing.com/

Compomotive wheels are available in the US from: https://www.usacomp.com

If you don’t want Panasports you probably won’t want real Minilites or Superlites either but they should be available for the TR7.

Rimmer Brothers and S&S Preperations in the UK both have a selection of aftermarket wheels for the TR7.

I want a set of the Compomotive AT wheels they sell.
