Lucky tonight!

I messed around under the dash on the TR3A the other day
and must have knocked the wire off to the fuel gauge.
No big deal...I knew I had a full tank. Took a few short
trips around town...and a half hour ride. Still knew I
had plenty of fuel. So...thought we would take a Fathers
Day ride...and had better top off the fuel tank.
It took....14.2 gallons! Right-o....it only holds...
14.4 gallons! Count me lucky...and count me getting that
fuel gauge working again...SOON! Gil

Hey Gil I did the same thing, the guage wasn't working but I knew that I had pkenty of fuel. So I loaded my new panasport rims in the trunk and passenger seat and headed to the tire shop to have tires installed and put on the TR. Well about 2 miles from home the car died... First I thought that the fuel pump went bad, so I called my Wife to bring me some tools to find the problem. While waiting for her to show up I noticed that there was no fuel in the glass bowl! Yup bad fuel pump how am I going to get the car home?
When Terry sshowed with some tools I pulled the fuel line loose expecting the fuel to get all over me. No fuel, tank empty! So we put the rims in her Audi and off to the gas station for a gallon of petrol. I have replaced the fuel guage but I still use the stick in the tank guage just in case. That was the only time I got my self stuck on the road in TS37148L
