My winter project on my bugeye finds the bonnet having gone through a staggered cleaning. First we stripped all the paint we could. Second, mediia blasting. Third, light sand blasting. Forth, removal of all rust possible with tools everywhere. Fifth, sandblasting of all those pesky, places a tool can't get. My bonnet had the wings, replaced sometime, suffered very light damage in a horizontal line across the front, an impact on the lower drivers side, and once, the bonnet came up at highway speed(twas my experience) causing cracks in braces. The trivia ?, how many pieces were welded to make a bugeye bonnet, you'll be suprised when you count.
