I'll buy you a new headliner, if you deliver that top to my garage in RI. It will match my car and there will be no need for any paint shop......

Where in the heck did you ever find that up here??? Or was it up here?

I wonder if some guy in Florida is missing his top yet.

In the mid '90's at fellow at Carlisle had a few of them for sale that were ready to install. I want to say he was asking around $600 each.
With the way prices have jumped since, I would say you did well.
I believe TRF has everything you need to install it onto your car.

great , I'll look into getting a headliner and any gaskets I may need from TRF, Unless anyone knows of someone local...

Plus how involved is it to install a headliner?
Do I need a pro?

I got a really nice tan (they also have black) headliner from John Skinner in the UK. It's cloth, not the vinylish material that everyone else uses. They said it's the same stuff that is used on Jag headliners.

I haven't got my hardtop assembled yet, but it'll look pretty cool when I do!

Ok...

Paint, Hardward & Seals are in place,
I took her for a ride, seems like a good fit.(No rattles!)

She's off to the upholstery shop next week to have the headliner installed.

Should have just left it the proper color and dropped it off in my garage.

Looks great Bill. Congrats! Now you'll be tempted to drive on those really raw days. The TR6 heater is a great unit and riding in a car with the topper fitted is like being in Dale's powder coat oven. Nice and toasty.

Why do you want to do that? You really don't want to be adjusting glasses every time you swap the top on and then when taking it off. That will get old rather quickly.

Unless of course, your door glasses do not currently mate to the weather strips on the soft top, but I doubt that you would have put up with that situation.

thats it!

When I tore the car apart, I had the paint shop put in all new glass.
the door glass has never really matched the soft top, but I ignored it...

Bill,

There is minimal adjust beyond the normal travel. Just make sure that the horizontal channel is not hitting the inside of the door frame panel, which will stop it from traveling all of the way up. That is the simplest and most common fix.

And if you're gonna post pictures that look like you're in Coventry, England, rather than Coventry, RI, please get the car on the other side of the road.

And Larry's right. It's going to be sunny and in the 60's this week. Get that topper off and the softie down.
