Oh my.......you got to open your present early? Sweet, what a great addition to an already well prepared V-8 Healey.

Happy Holidays to all......

Congrats Ian... WOW!!! Those are BEAUTIFUL!!!

You've got me beat 2X, but I have one less distributor than you.

I was just looking at the pix that I took of your car last year. Are you sure they're gonna fit in there? The velocity stacks sure look WIDE and TALL. Will the present hood scoop still work? Looks like you might need 2 long narrow ones.

What is the process for adjusting the fuel/air ratio of one throat against the other 7? Or is that even necessary?

Do you have a mechanical or vacuum advance distributor. If vacuum, how does it attach?

How does that intake handle the coolant routing and thermostat housing or is that a separate assbmbly?

I've got LOTS of questions....

Would you please post (or Email me) a top down picture? I'd like to see the layout of the throttle advance linkage.

I also want to see some pix of them installed.

Hi Tim,

Here's a picture of the front of the manifold

I'm going to use the very trick Mallory MaxFire, which is electronic ignition with a capacitive discharge system with programmable advance and vacuum built-into a distributor . It also comes with a 3 bar MAP sensor so I nearly get the advantages of Megajolt but it looks standard.

The plan is to improve the breathing over the little 650cfm Edelbrock (not difficult) to get some more BHP (hopefully) with the Webers and then spend the next year lightening the car (ally or carbon panels maybe) so I can squeeze out 500 bhp per ton NASP.

I might then be ready to have a go at VMax with a few aerodynamic tricks.

Ol' Grumpy will be doing the first setup and then it's a day on the dyno. I did have a comment from a friend that I'll end up a world-class expert on Webers before I manage to solve the part-throttle transition expected on this set-up.

I did, however, manage to confuse this well wisher with my response of "What's part-throttle?" :jester:

I LIKE THAT!!! You don't call him that to his face do you???

I take it that the elevated gold tubes are fuel delivery...

How does the linkage manage a throttle return spring. Is it in the bellcrank tower or does it use a solid push rod with the spring on the accelerator pedal arm or something else?

My setup uses pull cables for the throttle and the transmission with front & rear return springs on the butterfly shafts and on the transmission TV arm.

That Mallory MaxFire looks pretty neat. I am using a Megajolt computer with a Ford EDIS8 system. I have one of the dual EDIS coils mounted on the front of each footbox.

I just LOVE the look of those Webers. Are you going to run air cleaners? I am not.

Richard Wright, Car #6 on the Modified web site has 4x2 DelOrto's. Here's a pic.
