OK....since I burned up the K&N filter set-up on my Bugeye from the fire a few days ago, I've been looking at alternatives. I have been thinking about getting some 3" trumpets, but I'm not sure if I can get a filter over them.
I found some with a gauze filled screen over the opening and was wondering if it would be a good idea to use on a daily driver (i.e. not a race car). What concerns me is that Colorado is a dusty state and I don't want to ingest any more dirt than I have to. I think they would look awesome though, so if they won't do any harm then I'll go that route. The easiest solution would be to just buy a replacement K&N filter, but I've been known to do the complete opposite of easy!
