Thanks Don,
That is a big complement coming from you. I am just trying to make it "presentable" and "dependable" (as much as can be anyway
). Today I am working on pulling the heater apart and cleaning it up. Looks to be in pretty good shape fortunately.
I think that I am going to start on the guages by the end of the week....trying to do alot of the smaller work prior to starting work on the body (although I have been picking at that as well)
It's all gotta get done sometime right, so It doesn't really matter as far as the order is concerned. I would like to have the body ready to send out by the End of March however....I have another week vacation scheduled soon and I should be able to get alot done then as well.

Wow....if I didnt know better, I would think somebody had snuck in to my shop and took pics of my build. Nice frame. did you use POR 15? I like that sway bar too. Where did it come from? Moss? TRF? I will post some pics soon. Nice to see that I am on the right track with a Jedi...lol.

Hi Bill, Yes indeed POR15 it is. Had good sucess with it on my TR6 restoration. My sway bar came with the car (a former vintage racer) and I believe it is an addco bar that matches the front bar as well.

Too cold to work out in the garage today so I though I would work on a project inside the house.
Take a look at the date on the bags that I pulled out of storage....
Funny that it is 1 year to the day since I first took them off the car.
Took them all apart to clean and polish them. Temp and Amp guages can be a little bit tricky I found, but I think that they came out pretty well.
Going to work on getting the center cluster blasted and painted during the next week.
I am starting a mini vacation on Wednesday and am determined to set the Mig welder up and start practicing....hope to start making some patches to the body by next weekend.

Thought I would move back to this thread with a few updates.
So welding is continuing. I have fixed the spare tire pan sides and the trunk on each side and am awaiting the rear body mounts and closing panels before I can finish that area.
I decided to move on to some other problem areas. Here is what I am working on now.
Rear wheel arch drivers side.
I have a bad spot on the front drivers side inner wing
I decided to cut it out with the body to frame mount attached
I am going to see if I can rescue the mount, however it looks like it might be pretty rusty as well in spots.

Well, I am still an amateur in the welding department, but I am getting better (I think). I have now welded in 6 patches on the car. Takes practice and patience. I still blow holes in the metal now and again but at least I am getting better fixing them. I practiced for about 2 weeks on scrap metal before I attempted it on the car. I have been through one bottle of MIG gas so far (about 4 hours total of welding) and just had it re-filled today.
I still haven't finished the inner sills as of yet as I wanted to get some practice in on easier spots before I attempted the repair in a confined area.
The plan is to get the welding done on top of the car before I flip the body over and work on the bottom. I hope to do that in the next couple of weeks and would really like to get the body out to paint by the end of April.

Dave - I have a brand new pair of front inner fender supports. When I was doing Frank's, I had the shop make my a second set. Are you interested ? If so I'l have to look for them. They are made of 16 gauge - thicker than the original ones.

Hi Jpr, thanks. I took the gauges apart and cleaned them with a qtip and gave them a quick wipe again with a qtip with pledge furniture polish.
Skip, a little rusty in there but solid enough after prodding with a screwdriver. Before closing that area in, I sprayed inside as far as I could go with rust converter.

What I am also going to do is drill an access hole in that small plate that I just welded in and I am going to spray waxoil in there and then plug the hole with a rubber plug. I have been thinking now that what I should have done was welded a nut on the backside of the panel and just put a set screw in there that I could remove. Figured I could give it a shot of protection once every little while. Oh well...next restoration

It's been great to see you tackling these jobs after never having picked up a MIG before. Just think how she'll drive with all of the strength you've put back into her Tush.
Some more grinding, some filler, and that repair will disappear. Good stuff!

Quick update.
After not working on the car for a couple of weeks, tonight I decided to flip her over and work on the bottom a little. Something that I have been putting off.
Yes, unfortunately, a futon mattress was harmed in the process.
Started stripping and spent a couple of hours on it. Will continue tomorrow but it is not going too bad.
