Just had to put up a post about the day I spent with Greenie. First thing this morning I met a fellow Triumph owner I've been corresponding with to pick up four *perfect* ROstyle hubcaps that he was selling. He was a great guy, lives about a mile from me, and has a great TR3A. The weather was perfect -- warm and sunny -- and I of course set off in Greenie. From there, I met friends for lunch across town, and then hit the supermarket and the hardware store. I made a quick stop at home to top up the dashpots (which I had forgotten to do before setting out), and then went for a drive to visit some friends. Drove home as the sun was setting. Got some great comments from people througout the day.
Once home, I wasn't ready to stop playing Triumph, so I decided to finally tackle Greenie's low-note horn, which hasn't worked in the year I've owned the car. I removed the horn, and lo and behold, I discovered that the horn had been repainted at some point during Greenie's misspent youth, and the painter hadn't masked the connectors or sanded the off. No wonder it wasn't working! So, I sanded off a pretty thick coat of paint, and the low-note horn sprang to life!
All in all, a *perfect* day spent with the car, especially with the warmer than average day.
