Adding Disc Brakes to a BN2

Welch & Cape sell Disc Brake kits, but on the front can the later BT7/BN7 style Caliper Adapter be bolted to the original BN2 axle for mounting the Brake Caliper? Would the existing Hub work to or would it need to be replaced to accomodate the Brake Rotor?
It looks like the Welch Kit uses a Dunlap Caliper, as on XK150's, with their own Adapter design

If your looking to upgrade to disc. brakes on your BN2, you might consider replacing (upgrading) to the stronger BJ8 front spindles/stub axle. The brake calipers bolt directly to them and if your needing disc. brakes for more "spirited driving" replacing the always suspect 100 spindles will give you great piece of mind. I know this didn't answer your question, just a thought before you start tearing things down.

According to Moss, the spindle is the same for later BN2 (from C.E.231203 LHD & 231148 RHD) through early BJ7. If so, the disks could be mounted. The master cylinder would have to be changed out as well.

Why do you need to change out the brake master cylinder with the swap?

I had a BN1 with disc conversion, original master.

I am also thinking about doing the disk brake conversion.
I am so confused....
Should I only do it in the front brakes ?
I was considering Welch in the UK
Which is the best option ?
"AH100M" & "glemon" members: How were your conversions done ?
Does anyone besides Welch offers the complete conversion kit ?
It seems Moss does not offer the spindles that Randy Gay mention as been the same for the BJ7

I used the kit from Welch. Some shortcomings - no explicit instructions but not tot tough to figure out how to install. Plus, when I had questions they were answered promptly via email. Also, no shims for adjusting the end play were included. Welch said they would include an assortment in future shipments (this was in 2005). They sent me a set of about 20 shims in the sizes I asked for at no charge.

I would recommend the kit from Welch with these slight reservations. If you want me to send you the email thread about these issues let me know.

Oh, I saw no reason to do the rears. Most of the braking is accomplished by the fronts.

As an aside as to why I did the conversion. My car spontaneously started pulling violently to the right upon braking. I spent tens of hours troubleshooting (I know what I'm doing) and I got down to bad (new) brake shoe linings one one side. Having no way to prevent this from happening again, with no notice, I decided to convert.
