Adding a vacuum gauge

I fitted a Voltmeter and Vacuum gauge to the GT's console (it was a tight fit):

The Voltmeter I know how to connect, but the instructions with the Vacuum gauge have left me a little confused. Is this position (circled in yellow) a suitable attachment point for the gauge's pipe?

(It looks almost like it was made for it!)

Thanks!

I think it is. If I'm not mistaken, you want the vacuum to come from the manifold for those gauges.

Cool, Julian. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif As I'm sure you know by now, you can diagnose tons of things that are going on inside your engine with a vacuum gauge.

Hi Tom ... yes, so I have been reading  As far as I am concerned, the more gauges, the merrier!

My smoke gauge is simply how clearly I can see the other gauges /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/yesnod.gif

I did the same, but mounted just a bit higher. I relocated the hazard indicator to free up some space.

I like lots of gages as well but mount them on a seperate alum panel under the Bugeye dash so i can remove them as a set. Oil temp, vacume, Volts, engine hours, etc. Good fun.

That's my plan for Herself's center console. I am fabricating a "fake" V8 one and plan on a (SMITH'S) clock, voltmeter and either oil temp or vacuum gauge... may opt for all four (wallet permitting). And it gives me room for "modern" audio, foglight switch, fuel pump switch (dual pumps, switchover too) and a few more. She's gonna need a "pre-flight checklist"! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

She's already said she'll be afraid to drive it in traffic... When she gets a load of the "array" I've planned, mebbe ~I'll~ be the "principle driver"!!!
