Ok, after filling up the cooling system in an unrelated event the dang thing won't start. Argh!! She sound slike she's starving for fuel. I put some gas in the top of th ecarb and still nothing. If I shoot some Thrust ether sprya into the air filter she lights up so apparently I have an issue somewhere with a bad mixture or starving for gas? In
my investigation I see out of the back of the standard carburetor is a hose going towards the back of the engine and there is a metal fitting with 3 hoses on it (T fitting??) Anyway, there is a little lever on there. As of now it is to the far right (looking at engine from the fron of the car towards the back). Is this soem kind of manual choke???

I should clarify that the part is on the left of the engine behind the carburetor, but the lever is all the way to the right.

Sounds like the heater control valve. Up should be on, down off. In the on position you will have circulation thu the heater core

Mark, that's it. Looking again I realize it goes to the heater unit I think. Is this something people normally turn on and off, kinda like your home central air for "summer/winter" settings??

Ether is so low octane that it will ignite on the heat of compression, no spark needed.

This would indicate that spark is not getting to the plugs or the plugs are not sparking for some reason.

Can I pull the plug wire and see if it sparke against the block? If so, then pull the plug and replace them? I could have spwrn the y just did that and it worked the day before!
