I've posted for help a couple times over in Lotus as Elans caught my fancy. Well as you show an interest in things and talk, opportunities come your way. I was mentioning an Elan and a fellow told me his mother in law has a Tiger in storage that hasn't moved for 20 years. I'm going to take a look. I am completely new to this world of classic cars/restoration. I know the questions I ask show some ignorance, but I've got to start somewhere.
What I have just said about the car is all I currently know. I would like to make some big assumptions. Assume the car was in great shape and properly drained of fluids 20 years ago. What is it likely to need now, and how much expense would be likely. I assume tires, rubber, gaskets, top all need replacing, maybe some, or all wiring. What is a reasonable dollar figure to expect to get a car like this in good drivable condition again ? Attractive, but not show winning condition.
Thanks for any help
Steve
