I just picked this up off of the Mini Mania site....
The Mini Challenge at Laguna Seca isn't just for racers. Bring your street/show Mini to the beautiful Monterey Peninsula for a ride you won't forget! All entrants are invited to take part in the Parade Lap of the track on Sunday, before the Mini Challenge race itself. No, you can't drive 90 mph. No, you can't pass anyone. But you will have a rare opportunity to drive your Pride and Joy through Andretti Hairpin and The Corkscrew in company with the best Mini's from around the country! Considering you'll also be on hand to witness the biggest and most exciting Mini race in recent history (oh yeah, and the New MINI too!), and the Mini Challenge adds up to a can't-miss event!
When not strutting around the track, street Mini's will be on display in a special corral in the Paddock, close to the track so you won't miss the action of the other SCCA vintage races taking place over the weekend. And of course, the hospitality tent will be right there too, with refreshments, prizes, and a whole lot of fun.
Details of the weekend are still being finalized, and we will keep you updated on new developments. At this time, the schedule for the weekend looks like this:
Friday, Nov. 2: Test day, tuning
Saturday, Nov. 3: Two practice/qualifying sessions on the track (approx. 25 min. each)
Sunday, Nov. 4: Parade Lap (noon), practice session, and the MINI CHALLENGE!
