I would inspect the gears small teeth, these are the ones that take the load until the large teeth are meshed. THey wear faster. I would replace at minimum the bearings and find a good layshaft (ive been told alot of the "new" layshafts are not long lived. I didnt do my own rebuild, thought it would be too intimidating, but in reality it doesnt seem too bad. check everything for wear, replacing only the worst parts insures the "maybe OK" parts fail faster. As for seals, i heartily recommend permatex avaiation gasket sealer. And be sure to fit a new pivot bolt/bearing sleeve for the clutch arm. -Josh
