Wizard Radiator

I am planning on putting a new Wizard radiator in my 100 and before ordering it I'd like to hear from anyone who based upon experience with one has any suggestions or comments. The one mod I am planning upon would have the overflow tube coming out of the right of the filler as I have an existing recovery tank mounted upon the right shroud support.

I installed one on my early BN1. Construction quality looks excellent, it fit nicely and engine is running but It's still a project that's not on the road. So I have no comments on performance. The only issue I had was that the temperature gauge fitting is slightly rear of the original radiator and this crated an interference with the original bracket that holds the bonnet prop rod in place. It may not be an issue with a late BN1 or BN2.

I have one installed in my BJ7 restoration. It never had overheating issues in Southern Ohio decades ago when it was last driven, but the original radiator needed to be recored anyway, and it was about the same price to just buy an aluminum aftermarket one. Found plenty of posts on various forums of folks giving glowing reviews of the Wizard ones. The car is still about a year away from being on the road, so I don't have any functional performance data to give. Fitment and build quality were excellent, I didn't have to modify anything other then picking up a set of metric fasteners to bolt it in.

Michael,

I have a Wizard in my 3000. I was very impressed with the quality of the product and the perfect fit. It also keeps my engine cool. I'm planning on buying another Wizard for the BN1 that I am restoring. I definitely recommend Wizard.

The OEM healey cap does not seal properly on the Wizard radiator as it is designed to modern standards. The "billet" cap is just a decorative cover (yes I bought one), but they do sell modern caps that fit them.

Michel,

After 4 years I fianlly disconnected and removed my overflow/recovery tank. I never ever had any coolant leave the radiator - even in the hottest days of summer. And I only use a 7 lb cap.

Have them add the drain plug Healey ones don't fit. Also I needed metric bolts for install on Mine for some reason.
