Gentlemen:
As I noted in an earlier post, I'm trying to get my clutch re-assembled correctly. The throwout bearing is completely worn out is a short period of time, so I want to make sure I have the right combo of parts so that (hopefully) the whole thing runs properly and lasts longer. Here are the facts:
- The car has a 1275 & a ribcase tranny. It has the smaller bore slave cylinder from the 1098. It has a 2 1/2 inch pushrod.
I understand I need to use the throw out bearing for the 1275, correct?
I'm trying to correctly ID my ribcase tranny. It has the number 22A478/VAF10 stamped on the case near where the drive shaft is connected/below the shifter; 22G121/PBM7 inside the bell housing; and 3DDC1/221G118 near the input shaft. It also has a spot for an electrical connection near the shifter (I don't connected anything to it). Can you determine if this is a 1098 or 1275 ribcase?
I have three clutch forks. Two have exactly the same numbers (22G169 and the letter A on rear/LW15 on front) but the one on the tranny has a slight taper to the rear, while the other is straight. Both have a pivot hole 1.5 inches from the bottom of the fork. The third fork only says MOWOG on the front and LW15 on the back. This one's pivot point is about 1 inch below the base of the fork.
Can you tell me what would be an operational combination for my car?
Thanks,
Mike Pennell
