TR6 TR6 Transmission leak

Now that my TR6 is back on the road, I was driving around and as usual oil is dripping on my exhaust, now after closely looking I figured its comming from the transmission, I had the tunnel off to replace the rear motor mount, and I didnt see evidance of leaking from the rear seal so it must be comming from around the top cover, I could kick myself for not checking the bolts on the cover. So here is the question, is it possible to tighten the cover bolts by jacking up the car and trying to get a wrench between the transmission and the tunnel?. I am willing to heat a wrench up and bend it if necessary.

I think you'd spend less time fooling with it if you did just remove the tunnel; but let me say this. The last time I had a leak from around there, it was because the tranny was overfilled with oil.

I drained the transmisson last fall, it started jumping out of third gear, so I decided better check the level, it was low so I drained it, lots of crap in the oil, I filled it back up till oil came out of the upper plug. That solved the jumping out of 3rd problem, shifts better too, but now its leaking

Hondo,

Do you have overdrive in your car. I find that alot of them tend to leak from the pinion where the speedo inputs. A couple of seals in there that degrade over time.

no Overdrive, I wish, I will just try to tighten all the bolts on the cover this weekend and hope thats is, try from underneath and if too difficult pull the trany cover again,
