Hi all I am looking for some advice on what to do about the A post and B post gap on a tr3 that has had the body off the frame in the restoration process. I put the car back together after it was painted and now have the door rubbing on the latch side. The body shop suggested that I have too much shimming on the front and if I pull some of that out the front should drop down and open the reveal on the back of the door up some. Clearly this makes sense and I should/will try it; however the gap seems vertical and just too tight. My fear is that if the front drops the cap with be uneven. Some of my thoughts are that I have too much paint on the hinges and door and the 3mils of paint is now adding up to 12 mils. I could tell that my buddy thought that was not the case and commented that he had never had that problem in the past. Before they painted the car, everything fit nice but the body was off the frame. The owner of the shop is my friend and he said he would drive out and have a look. I was hoping to hear some input from the forum, so I might be aware of any little problems that might be specific to the tr3. In addition, I have learned over the years that when the car is jacked up in the front the doors do want to stick. Any input would be appreciated.
