Well done on that. Our midget will be a similar color. With that in mind...

What are you going to do about the wheel wells and the underside of the car? My current thought is to paint it with POR-15 because it will be easy to touch up if something happens--that and it doesn't require a primer.

Looks good Frank. You only wear a filter mask when spraying? What kind of paint?

You know white bed liner is great for underside and wheel wells long as you are not after a factory car.

I use rubberized undercoating inside all the wheel wells.
I just don't like the look of clean painted wheel wells, and besides, 1 puddle and they are now dirty.
If it was a concours car, that's different. But a daily driver especially one that lives 2 miles from the ocean will have undercoat everywhere.
Fr Jack lives 2 houses from the ocean so we have taken all kinds of precautions for rust.
Rust inhibitor inside all the box frames and sills, Phosphoric acid wash befor etch primer, etc.

Actually the factory used undercoating inside the rear wheel wells then paint over it body color to cut down on the noise from the rear.

Am I the only one who feels amazingly slow on their progress now? Seems like only a week ago I was looking at pics of this car on its journey across the states..and now its painted!
Great work..and fast! don't see that very often!

We opted to keep the rear springs on the car, they are in good condition and the car sat level. No paint on the shelves because we aimed the paint gun at the car, not the shelves  There is probably overspray on everything in the garage, there always is. But it's a garage, nothing that can't get a little paint on it.
the floor changes colors with every car I paint!
As for the assembly weekend, that is Nov 8th & 9th, the car will be real close to finished that weekend. Interior panels are made, vinyl is in a roll ready to be glued on the panels, seats are at the upholster shop. Engine and trans are ready to drop in, rear axle is all rebuild and ready, carpet is here and ready to be installed as are all the other parts. It's just a matter of putting all the pieces back on the car. I will wet sand and buff the car this weekend, maybe get to covering the interior panels and making new door pockets. My wife is sewing the carpet pieces and making something to replace the ribbed rubber door liner since we could not find anything in blue, she is making vinyl over foam with stitching lines in it so it has some character.
Everyone is welcome for the assembly weekend in Toms River, NJ on 9/8, just let me know.
