Parts and money came in fast and furious, they have slowed down now but I have most of the parts and a bunch of money. I am about $1200 or so short to make this a nice looking safe, reliable driver for the priest. But even local businesses have donated things like the sheetmetal, and the media blasting of the bonnet, the car will get sanded by myself and some help. I have reinforced the wheel lips with 1/4" rod, I am blasting and powdercoating all the small parts.
Springs, A frames, front hubs and spindles, heater box, wiper motor, wire harness have all been gone through and cleaned, checked out, powder coated or re-wrapped.
I need to get some epoxy primer on the bare metal bonnet ASAP and the first of 2 major work shop sessions is 9/26-9/28 here in Toms River, NJ if anybody wants to come learn welding, panel beating, and filler. Oh and lots of sanding
I have a good friend who is a pro welder and welding instructor who promises to be here to teach welding on thick and thin metal.
All my spare rooms are spoken for, you can pitch a tent on the lawn or there is a new Comfort Inn just 5 blocks away.
Everybody welcome.
The 2nd session is to assemble the car after paint. My son will paint the car.
But we need to put it all back together, make an interior, and make it run, roll, and stop. The seats will be finished by an upholsterer but gluing vinyl to masonite and making Bugeye door pockets are all on the list for late Oct or early Nov.
