One of my primary functions in life, if you will, is hunting for 'treasure'...Well, stuff I can turn around and make a quick sale, anyway. One hot spot for me recently was this location getting rid of a lot of tools and other junk so as I was picking through, I was delighted to find this charming little 1 1/2 ton hydraulic jack stand made by "Drednaut". Made in Michigan (not UK - oh well). As found was rough and grimy with some hints of red paint remaining but is now shown almost completely restored (still some cleaning up needed). Fully closed measures about 7 inches. Fully extended including the top threaded 2 inch support measures almost 14 inches, way more than what is needed to raise a tire off the ground. I tested it and fits just enough underneath the suspension supports without the need for step ramps. I could not find anything identical to it on the internet yet, but I believe it was made either from the late 1950's to mid 1960's. Not bad, almost period to my 67 BJ8. Always nice to come across stuff that can be used. The best find for me so far relating to a Healey was when I found a brand new, in the original packaging, the same lockable antenna (I had on my former Healey), with the KEYS included no less!
