Hello BCF members.. I thought the Healeys and most foreign cars (not US made) had metric hardware!!!
Also, Thank you for advise on the head removal of my 66 AH.. I guess I will be doing some head removal work this weekend..
Wish me luck and I will let you know how it goes..

It is a bit funny though that the only socket I could get on the steering box adjustment jam nut was metric.

While *most* of the fasteners on a Healey are SAE, some of the "bought out" components (shocks & steering boxes come immediately to mind) still had British Whitworth fasteners on them. They were more common on 100s, and used less so on 100/6 & 3000 models.

It doesn't hurt to have a set of BS or BW sockets and wrenches laying around, even though they're rarely needed.

Speaking of that, does anyone know the size of the engine oil drain stopper? I've been using an adjustable wrench for years that is rounding the corners and want a proper fitting one for the new stopper. (BJ8)
