Hi Neils, if i could be such a bore as to quote to you what was printed in the restoration guide written by Gary Anderson and Roger Moment. "The idler box was unfinished aluminum. The top was black (painted or phosphate finish) and was fastened with zinc-plated bolts. The idler box was also secured to the chasis with a three-legged spacer, using zinc-plated bolts that threaded into the idler box body. Both steering box and idler box originally had grayish-green foam rubber dust seals, which were visible at the bottom. Current reproductions are made from a white foam material of a similar shape, which eventually turns gray-green with use." /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cheers.gif
