I purchased a used spin on oil filter conversion kit for an Austin Healey 3000.
I noticed that this design is no like the current adapter sold by Moss, where the oil filter is oriented horizontally off the engine block.
In addition, the design is not like the version, which is attached to the canister filter head.
This design is bolted directly to the engine block (like the current Moss design) but the oil filter is oriented in vertical direction (slight angle from exactly vertical).
Do anyone out there know of this adapter and if so, should the oil filter be oriented upward or downward? I know that the oil flows from the outer holes in oil filter, thru the filter element and out the center threaded rod. Since the oil filter has a flapper, I want to make sure I install the adapter correctly.
Thanks. Ed
