Pedal modification?

I've found I'm a heck of a lot more comfortable driving my TR3 with the seat pulled way back. That way I can drive with my legs basically stretched out.

But it's tough to fully release the clutch: push left leg forward, clutch is not quite fully released. Have to scrunch down and stretch leg and toes for full clutch release.

Has anyone put an "extender" or thicker pad on the clutch pedal face?

Any pictures of same? I don't want something that will pop off at the "wrong" moment ...

Sorry I don't have a photo, Tom. My TR3 had a curved (I assume carved) block of wood fastened to the clutch pedal when it came to me; with two flathead bolts through drilled holes in the original pedal. I took it off so I could put the proper rubber pad back on.

Generally, you can pull the pedal a bit higher by backing off the pedal stop (if you have one, on the front of the pedal box), lengthening the pushrod for the MC until there is only minimal freeplay (ISTR the book says .010"), and/or lengthening the slave pushrod until there is only minimal freeplay there as well. I go with roughly 1/32" rather than the 1/10" in the book. If you do that, though, you should check it more often. The freeplay will go down as the clutch wears, and if it ever goes to zero it could lead to a slipping clutch and rapid wear.
