petnatcar submitted a new resource:

DEAD PEDAL - DEAD PEDAL

I was never completely comfortable while cornering because my left foot was always flopping around.
Following the racers lead I fabricated and installed a Dead Pedal that can be installed with 2 Self Tapping Screws and some 3M Non Skid strips. You can use some heavy paper to make a pattern.
Now I feel a degree of support that was sorely lacking.

I am surprised that you found the room, my right hand drive BJ7, (as do all the right hand drive Healeys,) has the dip switch adjacent to the clutch pedal and there is not a lot of room left. Where did you put your dead pedal ?

I put my dip switch where the overdrive switch was. I put the overdrive switch in the shift knob.

My dead pedal covers the dip switch. It's designed to pivot up so you can get to the dip switch but it's flexible enough that I can just push down on the dead pedal to press the switch. Don't remember which club's magazine it was in.

Hi Bob,
Not being overly concerned about originality I chose the most convenient location without having
to move the wires. (see pic) I never drive the car after dark anymore so this was the easiest spot.
I'm sure the purists would deplore my car because of all the improvements I've done but I know I've made the car better.
Even Geoff Healey said "any modifications you can make to improve the car were all right with him".
I wish I could show him the 40 pages of ideas I've come up with since owning my car.
Note the enlarged pedals and the 180° air vent for fresh air which is enhanced by the air scoops (not shown)
which fit behind the grill. These are held in place with one #8 Philips screw and one Tie Wrap and you don't need to
remove the grill to install them.
Patterns and instructions for all these parts are available free of charge from me.

Good luck,
Peter

I did something similar on my last build and replicating it on this build... dead pedal where dip switch was and dip switch moved to the OD switch location. Jaguar makes a nice bezel for Dip Switch.
