Oil Galley Plug Problem

I have a TR-4 motor that was just rebuilt. When the moter was cleaned the aluminum oil galley plugs were removed. I had new ones made with 3/4" aluminum stock threaded to 3/4-16 threads to match the block. I used Permatex high temp thread sealant to seal the threads.
I now have leaks in the front and back of the motor out of these areas.
I know I have to remove the motor and replace the plugs, but what type of sealant should I use. These are not taperd threads.

Well thanks for your post about the plugs Bruno. I have wondered what they are made of and how they were put in. I am surprised that the permatex did not work perhaps the area was not clean enough or maybe it did not have enough time to cure. I would have probably used the permatex myself and let set for a week. I know that sounds like over kill, but that works for me. You might try some Indian Head Gasket sealer; it is specially designed for such applications.

Thanks for your reply. I used acetone to clean the threads.
A loctite rep. suggested using 272 high temp thread locker. The only proplem I see is that if it doesn't hold, these plugs will be almost impossible to remove.
I'm wondering if someone might know how these plugs were originally installed.
