In Bermuda last year and nearly fell on my face..."MG Experience" dealership on Front Street. Electric Chinese MG... Blasphemy! I walked in and started chatting with a man who said they just opened. I guess on an island like Bermuda, they could make a go of it. By the way when I told him about my ownership of a B he handed me a box of Moss MG logoed golf balls!!

This is the view of the rear of the cyl head and its "plumbing" in the left photo. The right is of where the water line attaches to the heater pipe. No Zenith's so perhaps I can blank out the fitting?

Yes. The way I like to do it is to remove the fitting, trace the outline and the location of the mounting holes on a piece of scrap metal of similar thickness, cut it to shape and drill the holes - then cut a gasket to fit and reattach with the original screws. Then run the heater hose directly from the radiator hose to the heater...or use the heater pipe like mine:
