So far so good, but now an odd question

Well, my reassembly is going well on the Spitfire. Thanks to everyone who replied to my posts. In fact, by next weekend I hope to have the car ready to do a test drive. Then it's down to paperwork and legally having fun. Since I'm going to be in the infinite details stage soon, I have a list of next projects in no order of preference.

1) Build all my Triumph model kits which will take as long as restoring a real car.
2) Buy a TR4 to rebuild which I'm dying to do.
3) Buy another Spitfire for everything but the body.

#3 appeals to me because I just finished reading Triumph World and the Vincent/Caburn Hurricane was featured. If I can find a good Spit mechanically but cosmetically dead, it'd be fun. However, aside from having a body shipped over from England direct, does anyone either have one for sale in the states or is there a US importer? This is just planning stages, but I like to be ready to jump when the oppurtunity presents itself.

Thanks!!!

I have never seen a Hurricane except in photos, but if you are good at creating bodywork from aluminium sheet a Macau Spit replica would be nice!

Yes, the Macau car... I was actually thinking of getting a Hurricane kit. then I'd put a 5 speed transmission in it, mess with the suspension, but take the nose of the car to a friend who does carbon fiber work, and see if he could chop some of the nose. Kind of make the grill opening bigger, more like the mouth of an AC Ace Bristol. I figure the weight difference and subtle engine teaks would make it into a pretty fast car. There's got to be a Hurrican kit in North America somewhere...or maybe Caburn needs a US distributor. Hmmmm... Think how many Spits are out there with great running gear and rotted bodies becoming parts cars. Question is, will anyone want one over here?
