I finally got around to ordering the proper exhaust band for my headers/collector per Tom's advice.
https://www.britishcarforum.com/bcforum/ubbthreads.php/ubb/showflat/Number/320787/page/1#Post320787

I thought that while I was under there and while my car was rich on the top end and since I had some new needles ordered and needed a way to preliminarily check the needles and the results without paying Dyno labor hours....well you know the rest. I ordered one of these:

https://www.ngksparkplugs.com/products/performance/afx.asp?mode=nml

I'll have the ring welded into the header collector next week and then start the fine tuning.

Oh, yeah, I'll install the exhaust clamp as well.

Pretty cool stuff! I got me one of those suckers too, but my ride is running so good I hesitate to even think about installing the bungs.

Please let me know how it turns out. I'm especially interested in how your new needles will affect things.

Take care,

Shannon,

I really like the layout of your new website, but I'm seeing code in some of the pages, rather than an HTML display. Link to All Things Triumph isn't working either.

Get that baby up and get us some pictures and history, dude!!

I know.. I have a lot of work to do there.. with work being what it is, I haven't had to extra time to work on it and the Triumph too. However, now that she's back in business, I suppose I don't have an excuse now huh?

Geeze, I hate websites that don`t post PRICES!! How much does this thing cost? AND can you purchase extra bungs?

This would be a great tool to squeeze a nickle`s worth of gas out of the Motorhome 460 Cu. In. engine, as well as my Tr.

Herman of HVDA has one somewhat similar mounted on the dashboard of his TR-250. He was able (with the help of a friend who installed it) able to pick different needles that work for the new gas mixtures available today and increased his gas mileage from 25 to 28 mi/gal. On his cross-country trip from So. Calif to VTR near Philadelphia, that made a lot of difference in his gas bills.

Prices vary from $329 down to $249. I bought it from Summit Racing, because I've done a bit of business with them and like their style, for $255.

Yes, I believe that you can buy bungs and cables with the sensors installed. Check the Summit site for more details.

Those band clamps are the standard deal on big trucks...you seldom see anythiings else.

Various O2 sensors and weld-on bungs are also available on eBay. If you know the sensor you're looking for, the prices there can be quite good.

Just got the email confirming delivery for tomorrow. I like dealing with Summit. Very efficient and detail oriented.

Best good news is the custom exhaust shop that made my intermediate pipes has moved back to my side of Providence about 3 minutes away from my house and office. I have an appointment Friday morning to have the bung welded in, so I can play with the carbs and tuning a bit over the weekend.

Also, it's time to start to look at fabricating a nice custom exhaust with twin pipes on both sides, but not too loud.

Oh yeah, I need to install the $7.99 band clamp while it is up on the lift.

Just as an alternative, if you have a PC, the Innovate LC1 allows you to log to your pc. You have the choice to read narrowband or wideband, and you can also have a gauge attached to it.

I mention this only because it's what's installed on mine...
