Was having issues with turn signals working after having the radio console out due to some related repairs under the dash. E. Flashers worked but no turn signals. I figures something must have gotten pulled loose under there and was all ready to take it all apart and start testing wiring. The brillant idea suddenly came to me to test the Flasher Unit by bypassing the flasher lamp relay. To my amazement, first the left turn signal and then the right lit up just fine. Eureka $5.95 worth of Loud Clicking Heavy Duty Flasher relay from O'Reilly's and I'm back in business.
The flasher worked just fine before I added a Quick Disconnect for the BE Bonnet wiring harness. I'm guessing the added resistance of having a Quick Disconnect in the wires going to the turn signals was just enough to keep the relay from flashing.
Moral : Don't overlook the simple stuff, that's usually what it turn's out to be most of the time. We overthink usually what is wrong with our Spridgets.
