More of DPO Pedro removed

Poco a poco, every week I remove a little bit more
of DPO Pedro. Eventually, I will have him gone 100%
and finally enjoy driving my reliable TR6.

Crypty is still dead on blocks awaiting parts, so
while the fuel tank is out I took this week to remove
all the mess DPO Pedro had hidden in the trunk area.

A moral victory for me, as I took everything down to bare
metal and started over. I've never seen the trunk area of
a real TR6 so I had to guess based upon some remnants of
deteriorated pieces I found. I used white felt where I found
pieces of mush. I also replaced all the trunk fasteners with
new. Nothing in my new trunk has even been touched by
DPO Pedro except the spare tire wheel rim.

I probably made some errors but it's a mile better than
when I started with DPO Pedro's mess.

What could you possibly have done wrong???? It looks great.

This was mine before the glue was taken off the inner wheel wells and a few spots were touched up. Then it was color and clear coated.

Yours looks every bit as good as mine does finished. Besides, the trunk floor cover and trim panel kit hides all of your hard work anyhow.

See, that extra paint you ordered did come in handy!

Dr?

C/L switches???

Look at the photo again. Wiring in place, switch just out
of view, light functions when bulb and holder go back in.
I tested the circuit when I installed the Dan Master wire harness. Good to go.

regards,

d

Paul- It just feels good to remove stuff DPO Pedro had
half a$$ed held together with Elmers white glue. I'll
know the proper job is under all the cardboard, etc.

Dale, ya gonna put air in that tire? Try Pedro's cousin's trick of a little gasoline inside the tire and flip a lighted match into the trunk, as you run in the other direction. What have you got to lose, you gas tank is out right now.

(Thanks to NPR)

Bill, stop being a wise guy. You're jealous and you just want him to scratch his shiny new paint!!

Dale, don't let Bill get to you.....again.....

Besides, everyone knows that Pedro equips all of his fine restorations with "space saver spares". The inflater can is in the glove box.

Just curious Dale. How do you get away with your home smelling like a cross between a Maaco Body Shop and an Exxon station?

Between the paint and gasoline fumes creeping into the house, my clothes would have been packed on the street or in the garage long ago.

You've done more in garage painting in two years than I've done in 40!!!!!

It's quite easy Paul-

Since I cannot travel by plane, Wendy cannot kick me
off the island.

But Wendy can fly and fly she will. She's leaving me guys!
Had enough of gasoline and Xylol and paint thinner and paint.

Exactly two weeks from Today at 4:30 PM mountain time, Wendy
will be breathing fresh clean air with friends in Estes Park,
Colorado.

That'll give me 10 days to have things back to normal or
I will be forced to go live in a cave.

My wife left me too. She's in Raton, NM, for two weeks tending to an old, rich aunt. Hmmmm. If that were me I'd be sucking up to the old broad bigtime! My wife is too nice, and naive, to do that. Darn.

I can now leave my dirty socks where they lay for a few days.

Bill,

I've been to Raton, NM---- back in the day.

I don't imagine it's improved any. Nasty dust
pit of a place with lots of snakes.

Your wife must be a big hearted person to go
there on purpose. I wuz dragged there.

Is that anywhere near Roswell?

That may explain a lot about you finding Crypty and the way that thing acts.

I'm surprised that it's diary hasn't been updated this week.

You better be real careful with Wendy gone. You might wake up with a red fender in bed next to you in the middle of the night.

Is that what you would call it? Flashed that old Imogene Coca/Sid Caesar routine where she finds him in bed with a blond. "What, Where, Who....."

You youngins wouldn't understand.

DNK-

I usually get up 4:00ish AM, read the news and
have a cup of mountain grown with Bill, long distance.
