My
British Motor Industry Heritage Trust certificate states that our '80 MGB is a Limited Edition. And John Twist will ask just how limited is a production run of 6,700 cars?
Anders Clausager describes the LE in his book "Original MGB With MGC and MGB GT V8". The first VIN was 492071, the last California car was 500344 (Dec '79) and the last 49 state car was 523000 (Aug 80). UK-market cars are mixed in. Always black with black or beige interior. Anders states the road wheels are similar to the Stag's. Black air dam, three spoke, leather-covered rim steering wheel and a plaque on the glove box lid. Apparently the luggage rack, radio and floor mats were installed by US distributors.
The owners manual has an insert that covers the different wheels. Ours never had the plaque.
