I'm in the process of finalising a Frogeye with a 1275 Midget engine and gearbox. The whole kit and caboodle is installed in the car. I have discovered that the Midget 1275 setup with the ribcase box needs a one inch clutch slave cylinder to be in any way civilised in operation. Unfortunately I had fitted a 7/8 inch bore slave. When I came to change it to the one inch, I find that I cant fit it because the engine back plate interferes with the fluid hose inlet on the one inch slave, whereas, the 7/8 inch has a canted hoseinlet which clears the back plate. My question is, does anyone know of a one inch bore slave with a fluid inlet like the 7/8th inch unit? The photo shows the 7/8" slave in position with the backplate it has to clear.
The one inch slave has an inlet straight into the rear of the slave.
The reason that the back plate interferes is that it is a 1098 version, for which the 7/8 inch slave is suitable. On the 1275 plate the back plate is relieved in the area of the slave inlet.
