T-Series Leaking carburetor, old cork seal and new o ring seal

We have rebuilt a friends TD carbs and one of them continues to leak out the bottom of the jets. First time the carb kit came with the little cork seals which were soaked in oil prior to installation. Second time we bought the o ring replacements but it still leaks. I am wondering if the brass parts are too worn to allow the seals to work. Or I need to let the larger cork seal sit in gas for a few days and see if it still leaks?

We also replaced the seals that hold the float bowl. The new replacements are fiber washers vs the original rubber seals. I have really tightened that float bowl nut up real tight and and hoping for a seal. Do you know any place that sells the rubber pieces?

Thanks for you help.

Jerry - Take a close look at the fork on the bottom of the jet and see if it is loose. If it is, remove the jet, unscrew the fork at the bottom, clean the threads with a solvent, then put some lock tite on the threads and the reassemble the fork to the jet. You might also want to get a set of teflon seals from Tom Bryant at thosbryant@gmail.com Make sure that the jet is perfectly smooth, with no nicks anywhere along its length, relieve the sharp edges of the horizontal hole in the jet and on the bottom edge to keep these edges from cutting the teflon when installing the seals. Put two of the teflon 'O' rings at the top and two at the bottom of the jet , with the dished washers and the spring in place. Install the jets and should not have anymore leaks.
Cheers,
