Ivory white paint formula

Got the BH build sheet back on the 67 BJ8, turned out it is Ivory white, not old English white. Local PPG guy doesn't have code or formula for it. Could someone please steer me the way to find it.

I think Old English White and Ivory white are the same color. Code WT3.

I looked through the Anderson/Moment restoration guide to Healeys. They don't even list Old English White as a Healey color, but rather Ivory White. Clausager's book on Healeys refers to the color as Ivory(Old English)White, with the original BMC code of WT3. The ICI code is listed as 2379. ICI was bought out by PPG in the late 90's.

So I think they're the same color. Your PPG guy should be able to cross reference the ICI code to a PPG equivalent.

davidb, dont believe every thing you hear, or read by anderson and moment, though very helpfull they are human and do not know everything about healeys, here is the color "white" aka "ivory" for bj7 feb. 1962 to nov. 1963 and bj8 nov. 1963 to dec 1967.

Sources notwithstanding, based on our collective research, I guess the bottom line is that Old English and Ivory are in fact the same color using the ICI code.

My old BT7 was originally this color, altho I've since redone it in a non original paint scheme (from Chrysler no less).

On Anderson and Moment, it's still the most comprehensive book I've found, and I've used it extensively for my two brutes. I don't believe anyone has written the definitive bible on them. For that matter, there's probably more collective knowledge on this website than any book.

davidb, i believe ive found the most comprehensive source for the correct austin healey colors to date, yet i feel its an idividuals choice to paint a car what ever color pleases them, and yes i agree that anderson and moments publications are valuable but have found many mistakes in the publications, as leonardo might say "sausage his own"

In my photos-albums, Healey 100-6 colours,I've got pics of original colours in flyer, they call it ivory white. cheers

Thanks guys, I would have responded back quicker, but we had some pretty mean storms come thru this week and take out the cable sever here. All is back on line and going. Will compare this code to whats on the can of paint I have to see if it is the same. What I have looks whiter. Going to try to make the car look like the Peter Jackson racer photo that was posted on BCF a couple weeks ago.
