Post-War Other Herald to spitfire conversion parts

I have looked around but have not run into this yet, but does anyone have a source of what parts off the Spitfire would also be used on the Herald of the same year? I just bought brake hoses for a 65 Spit and found out that the front hoses are too short for the 65 herald...

I am getting ready to put in a new clutch and am wondering if I can just buy a clutch kit for a 65 spitfire from Vicki brits or Moss and will it work with my 65 1200 herald?

Thanks, it is almost spring and I have to!! I have to have this car going by then!! it has been two years since I have been able to drive routinely a british car... the longest drought since my first car 73 midget...

Regarding the brake hoses, all Spitfires used front disc brakes, and the hoses for those are shorter than the hoses for the drum brakes found on the front of most Heralds. I'll assume your Herald still has front drums? You might have to go to one of several good UK suppliers for the Herald front DRUM hoses.

As for the clutch, yes, clutches are essentially identical between Spitfire and Herald. But do make sure which STYLE of clutch you have first. Beginning around the Mk2 Spitfire (around 1965) and at roughly the same time for the Herald, Triumph switched from the old-style "coil spring" clutch to the "diaphragm-style" clutch. And you might want to check spitbits.com for clutch and other bits (I've heard, but haven't confirmed, that Moss doesn't have the early coil spring clutch for Herald/Spitfire).
