The heater blower motor on my 80 B only works on one speed. It seems to be the slower speed. I checked the switch and the wires are connected correctly, all three of them. I looked at the wires to the blower motor and found three wires leading to a snap connector (black - green/yellow - green/brown) but only two coming out of the snap connector (black and green/yellow). The third wire which deadends at the snap connector (green/brown) is a hot wire.
Now for my problem. There are only two connection locations on the blower motor. Acccording to the wiring diagram, all three wires should go to the blower motor. So, I've got this extra wire and am short one blower speed. At first I thought that maybe I had an old blower motor as it appears from wiring diagrams for older cars that the older ones only had an on / off type of setup and two wires, but when I looked at the VB catelog, the harness they sell for the 80 B, only shows two wires. My Haynes and Bentley books are useless on this question.
Where does the third wire plug in? Do I have an old blower motor? Do newer motors have a third connection location? Am I destined to never have a second blower speed?
