MGB-GT GT vs roadster rear brake slave cylinders

It's my understanding that the GT used different slave cylinders in the back compared to the roadster. The axle I'm getting has new slave cylinders in it, but it is from a '70 roadster. Can I use the new brake bits, or do I need to swap the stuff over from my GT?

I believe the later GT's ('68 on) used larger bore wheel cylinders, but before that they were the same as on the Tourer. Yours is a '67, so it may have the smaller ones anyway. Since you have new ones on the axle you're swapping in, you may want to try them to see how they do.

Thanks for the top, Mickey. I just looked it up in the Moss catalog and a 67 GT (mk1) would have had the smaller bore. One less thing to have to mess with, that helps.

Its hard to say what has been changed on these cars over the years. The roll pin that locates the cylinder is in a different location on the small vs large bore cylinders. Just a FYI. Bob

Thanks, Bob. I'm going to run the brakes that are on the donor axle, as they've been redone recently. Hopefully all will work out.

Out of curiosity I will check the pin locations on both axles, just to see which I have on my car.
