Did they come in different sizes of thickness and what was the stock size....015? Who supplies these if there are different sizes?

I just went through this with a recent rebuild. As I recall, the standard gaskets mic out at .013 and that's all that's available from standard sources, Moss, TRF etc. I'm told Gasket Works https://www.headgasket.com/ will make custom sizes but have not contacted them personally. I also found that the only material available is steel. It is also possible to cut these from sheet copper with some relatively simple tools. I haven't done that either but can post a link with instructions as soon as I get to my home computer. Tom

I can confirm that Mordy at GasketWorks can make them any size you want, for a price.

But I went a different route. Soldering a ring of 20 AWG "half hard" copper wire to the headgasket has worked well for me:

Oops, my bad. In case anyone else comes along and reads this, it was actually 26 AWG bare copper, not 20.

The main issue with the liner fig8 seals is make sure NOT to use aluminum seals they dont last over time.Captured between two pieces of iron is no place for such tender metal.Galvanic corrosion will eat it in 7 or 8 years.

Mad Dog is right. On my rebuild my old figure 8s were of aluminum, and they were corroded, broken and ugly. They were also too thin.

The copper ones are the way to go. They'll also help with the required protrusion above the block.
