Thanks for the link, Steve. A number of those places are familiar, but a few are new to me. Most comments in that link about Princess Auto sound positive, and a lot of people compare it to Harbor Freight. Most Princess Auto tools are low end, maybe OK if one does not plan to use them much. They don't carry most of the brand name quality tools. We are fortunate to have Canadian Tire stores across much or all of the country. The quality of their house brand tools tends to be good, they carry name brand tools and parts, and most things come on sale over time. Black Rock Tools (mail order) also offers a good selection of quality tools. The Canadian Amazon site also carries more than it used to, but it still doesn't have nearly the selection or good prices of the American site.
What I do wish is that we had more suppliers of parts for collector cars north of the border. Most of the parts we need are in the US or across the ocean. The US suppliers may offer free shipping within the US; to Canada, they charge high shipping rates and then the couriers/brokers take lots more. With the Canadian dollar down, one can about double the US price by the time a part arrives here.
