I always thought that was something ladies put in there undies drawer anyway.
Drove the TR3 to town (Brothers place)about 202 miles round trip today.
3 stopsigns and 2 traffic lights one way mostly cruising 75 mph (2700 rpm 5th gear)...75 degrees, sunny, aeroscreens, two lane thru the foothills (Carefree highway).
Those little 4 bangers really have heart.

Great drive Pat, feels good to get out and stretch yours and the cars legs. I felt the same way a few weeks back driving across the desert down to Tucson. Two lane empty road without stops. Sunny but only in the 50s though.

Keith,
Last drive to Tucson took the round about route too...not too much traffic. I need to drive over to Bills in May sometime. We'll have to link up there.
How's that concours 3 coming?

Pat let me know when you will be at Bills. Work on the 3 has been a bit slow with all of our out of town guests this time of year, and all the car related events going on. Waiting for the last round of hardware to be done at the platers. Drive train is all done. I was thinking of putting the engine and trans on the frame but will wait. It would be in the way when I trial fit the body. May not make may goal of having the car at VTR in Colorado 8/11.

Wish I could but the Hotel doors will be open again for more out of town guests. Not looking forward to the hot weather, but at least I can get some work done.

For those of us not living in the sun-washed Southwest: here it is spring showers into the indefinite future. "April is the cruelest month."

Hah hah... I guess one could describe the planet Mercury as 'sun-washed' too.

I'll drive the TR every day right thru the summer but the really pleasurable driving days are numbered.

What I miss most is that feeling Midwesterners and Easterners get on that first top-down ride in Spring after the long winter nap off the road.

I think about this often. This is what I did for all my adolescence and quite a bit beyond. Luckily, the TR survived. And I don't just mean with floor and rocker panel penalties. Fifty years is a long time, even if you change the oil at proper intervals. It includes rain and snow, unfathomable breakdowns in unimaginable places, and lots of weak decisions (mostly economically inspired) at remedy. Sometimes I can't believe this car has survived so much human (my) negligence over time, and yet yielded so much pleasure along the way.

And, now, I really do feel stuck. I don't want a museum piece. But I also don't want to remake the car in an Australian fashion to thrive in Road Warrior circumstances.

I want to drive the TR every day, but like at some other time,
