Brake bleed

Hi !

I have changed the hose between the reservoir and the master cylinder.

I bled the brakes 4 times (the first time using an Eezibleed and the 3 others using the classical method). After finishing the bleed, I try the car and the pedal is always spongy (the first time is spongy and the second time is harder).

Every time, I have air when I bleed the brakes. I have used 1.5 L of brake fluid (DOT 4).

I think there is some air in the brake system but I do not know why. There is no leak around the bleeders and the master cylinder.

Could you give me advice to resolve this problem ? Thank you.
Bye.

Try bleeding the master cylinder. While someone holds down the brake pedal, crack the line going OUT from the brake master. Sometimes you get a bubble in that area that does not travel past the fitting. If there is air in the line, you will hear it come out. Once the fluid comes out bubble free, you are done. If that does not work, try bleeding it at the junctions where the same thing can happen.

This is messy, and if you have conventional brake fluid, such as Castrol GT in the system, it can be very harmful to the paint. I wet down the area with water and position paper towels under and around the area where fluid will come out. I quickly remove the towels after I have bled the fitting and then hit the area with soap and water to quickly break down the brake fluid.
